ALEXANDRIA, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--LiveSafe, the world’s leading mobile safety communications platform, was recently honored as a 2017 Innovation Award winner by the Washington Business Journal (WBJ). The WBJ Innovation Award honors the most entrepreneurial and groundbreaking people, products and places in the Washington, DC region.
The award recognizes the LiveSafe mobile communications platform, and in particular the LiveSafe Software Development Kit (SDK) released in December 2016. The LiveSafe SDK enables organizations across all industries to embed LiveSafe’s award winning mobile safety and security functionality into existing iOS and Android applications, eliminating the need for users to download a separate app, thereby dramatically increasing user adoption.
“Thanks to the LiveSafe SDK, we were able to seamlessly integrate LiveSafe with the Levi’s Stadium mobile app and allow guests to anonymously report safety concerns, suspicious activity, medical assistance, unattended packages and more to Levi’s Stadium security officials,” said Jim Mercurio, San Francisco 49ers VP of Stadium Operations and General Manager. “Being able to add this functionality onto our existing app brings added safety and value to our guests with no interruption to the app they have already become familiar with.”
“The LiveSafe SDK gives our Digital Transformation and Technology team ease of integration as well as tremendous flexibility to expand our use of LiveSafe as a bi-directional communications platform moving forward,” said Dr. Ken Russell, VP Digital Transformation and CIO, Pfeiffer University. “As Pfeiffer continues to build a digital foundation with the ability and agility to connect, grow and respond in a rapidly changing world, the LiveSafe SDK allows us to easily incorporate the platform into our future plans.”
“Enabling organizations to embed the LiveSafe functionality directly into their own apps is the next logical step in empowering students and employees to improve safety in their communities,” said Carolyn Parent, CEO, LiveSafe. “We are honored to be recognized for this innovation that enables the San Francisco 49ers, Pfeiffer University, and many others to take an active role in the identification, communication and prevention of risks and incidents before they occur.”
