ARLINGTON, Va. – LiveSafe, Inc. in partnership with Command Consulting Group has announced it will provide its revolutionary mobile technology as the safety mobile app for the 12th Annual 9/11 Memorial 5K in Arlington, Virginia. Organized by the Arlington Police, Fire, and Sheriff’s departments, LiveSafe application will be provided to the 4,000 runners and participants of the 9/11 5K, created to recognize the victims and first responders of the September 11th tragedy.
As the first mobile security application provided in history of the run, LiveSafe will serve as the comprehensive information source for important race-related and safety information. Participants, who have downloaded the application and subscribed to the “Arlington 9/11 Memorial 5K” feed, will receive all notifications and communication sent from the Arlington County Police Department on Race Day, such as weather delays, road closures and pertinent event information.
On Race Day, participants and attendees will also be able to communicate with the police and fire department by submitting non-emergency information through the “Report Info” feature of LiveSafe. In addition to receiving texts, Arlington Police Department will also receive and respond to incoming pictures and videos submitted by participants, throughout the day.
Corporal Sean Bryson of the Arlington County Police Department said, “The tragic events of the Boston Marathon have reminded us of the need for increased security, LiveSafe is a great step in providing a new layer of safety at outdoor runs. The ability to communicate with our thousands of runners, regardless of their location on the course, as well as provide them with life-saving information, is incredibly valuable in ensuring our team communicates effectively.”
Shy Pahlevani, Founder of LiveSafe said, “We are excited to partner with Command Consulting Group to share this technology with Arlington County, and look forward to improving safety.”
