DAN VERTON, CONTENT LEADER & STRATEGIST

Stadiums and arenas host everything from sporting events to concerts and trade shows, and attract millions of people every year. As a result, they are massive revenue generators that must remain safe and secure. Safety and security incidents at stadiums and arenas can cause immediate and long-lasting damage to a stadium owner’s brand, reputation and future revenue, and exposes the teams and the sponsors to the same risks. According to recent court cases, stadiums and arenas can face liability in the tens of millions of dollars for a single injury liability claim.

Dan Verton, host of The Prevention Podcast, goes behind the scenes with Jason Parker, the former Vice President of Security and Operations for the Atlanta Hawks and the Philips Arena (now the State Farm Arena), to learn more about the real-world challenges faced by these massive facilities.

Jason Parker At-A-Glance

Jason was the Vice President Customer Service, Security & Operations for the Atlanta Hawks & Philips Arena between the years of 2008 and 2018. He reported to the President, GM and NBA’s Chief Security Officer. Jason managed approximately 40 full-time and 1,000 part-time employees as a part of his role. Philips Arena holds between 150 to 200 events, with 1.5-2.0 million guests each year.
